Majority of Americans are Overestimating Politicians

I can’t tell if it was scientifically conducted or just an internet poll, but according to this CBS/Vanity Fair poll, a majority (63%) of Americans think their past would preclude them running for office.  I don’t think this says as much about the past mis-deeds of Americans as it says about  politician’s ability to white wash their own pasts.  The skeletons in a lot of politicans’ closets would probably make a lot of that 63% blanch – being a politician is not so much about having a clean record as it is having the balls to tell people that you have a clean record.
